An example from Wales: Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW)

Each year HEFCW collects and produces statistical data about the HE sector’s performance regarding equality and diversity.

The data used in monitoring have been taken from Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) records. Data are submitted by British higher education providers to Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) after the end of the academic year and then supplied to HEFCW. These reports and their accompanying analysis are based on returns made by Welsh higher education institutions and includes data for students on HEFCW.

This provides ideas on what kind of information you could collect for your own statistical data in you university and country about the HE sector’s performance regarding equality and diversity (age, disability, ethnicity, gender, etc.). Important questions to consider:
